7/26 - God's Grace is Sufficient

Greetings Church Family

As we gather for worship today, notice the journey our music invites us to take. Worship is more than a collection of hymns; it is a story we enter together. We begin by proclaiming God's unchanging character in the pairing of Your Grace Is Enough and Great Is Thy Faithfulness. One song reminds us that God's grace is always sufficient for today, while the other anchors us in the truth that God's faithfulness has carried generation after generation. Before a word of Scripture is read, we have already declared who God is.
As we prepare our hearts with Freely, Freely, our focus shifts from God's gifts to our response. Grace is never something we earn—it is something we receive. Like Nicodemus in today's reading from John 3:1-17, we come with questions, uncertainties, and a longing to understand what it means to be born anew. Christ meets us not with condemnation, but with an invitation into abundant life through grace. The sermon, God's Grace Is Sufficient, reminds us that God's love reaches beyond our doubts, failures, and fears, offering new life through Jesus Christ.
Our response continues through the offering as we sing What a Friend We Have in Jesus. Having heard the promise of grace, we are reminded that we never journey alone. Christ walks beside us, inviting us to bring every joy, burden, and concern before God in prayer. Our gifts become another act of trust, a tangible expression of gratitude for the grace we have freely received.
Finally, we are sent into the world singing Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone). Worship does not end with the benediction; it continues in the way we live. We leave celebrating that God's amazing grace has set us free—not simply for our own sake, but so that we may share that grace with others. From God's faithfulness, to our response, to Christ's friendship, and finally into the freedom of grace, today's worship forms a beautiful arc that tells the Gospel story. May we leave this place living that story with every word we speak and every act of love we share.

8/3 - This Holy Mystery: Singing Our Way to the Table

 This Sunday, we come to the Lord’s Table. And not just any table— the table of remembrance, of unity, of mystery. In Luke 22:13–20, Jesus sits with his disciples, takes bread, gives thanks, breaks it, and says, “This is my body, given for you.” He takes the cup and tells them to remember him every time they drink. This act of Communion is more than a ritual—it’s an invitation into a holy mystery . Christ gives himself fully. And in doing so, he transforms not only bread and wine—but us. Each time we come to the table, we’re reminded that we are part of something far greater than ourselves: the body of Christ, broken and blessed, gathered and sent. This Sunday’s hymns help guide us into and through that mystery. They prepare our hearts, echo our prayers, and remind us of who we are and who we are becoming. 8/ 17 - Loving God

 Greetings Church Family This week, our worship series continues with the theme “Loving God.” That might sound like something we do naturally in worship—but 1 John reminds us that loving God is never just a matter of words, emotions, or even music. It begins with receiving God’s love and allowing it to overflow into love for others. Our hymn selections this week form a kind of musical sermon. If someone only heard the hymns on Sunday—without the Scripture reading or message—they would still hear the gospel truth of God’s love: where it comes from, what it does in us, and where it sends us. “We Sing of Your Glory / Tuya Es la Gloria” This bilingual hymn reminds us that God’s love is for the whole world—not just one language, one culture, or one people. By singing in both English and Spanish, we embody the truth that love crosses every barrier. In worship, this says to our congregation: “You are welcome here.
